Beyond The Race

Team Competition

Run clubs, schools, workplaces, and friend groups go head to head across the series. Bring your crew, stack your times, and take the podium together.

How It Works

  • 01Build a team of 5–10 runners and pick a unique team name.
  • 02Everyone on the team must run the same race distance.
  • 03The first 5 finishers from your team score points toward your team total.
  • 04Lowest score wins. The top 3 teams per race distance take home a special team competition medal.
  • 05There is no limit on the number of teams that can enter — just make sure each team name is different.

FAQ

How does team scoring work?

It is cross-country style scoring: your first 5 finishers across the line earn points. The 3 teams with the lowest total score win medals for that race distance.

Do all team members get a medal on the podium?

Yes. Every runner on the top 3 teams receives a special team competition medal.

Can our large running club enter more than one team?

Absolutely. As long as each team name is unique and capped at 10 members, you can register as many teams as you want. Example: MyClub-1, MyClub-2, MyClub-3.

Can I join a team after I already registered?

Yes. You can add yourself to a team anytime before race day, as long as it has not reached the 10-person limit.

What if I also podium in my age group?

Then it is your lucky day. You will take home both your age-group award and your team competition medal.

Does everyone on the team have to run the same distance?

Yes. There is a separate team competition for each distance, so all members chasing the team medal must run the same race distance. A large club can field a Half Marathon team, a 10K team, and a 5K team — each eligible to win.
